History

Golfing by Design was founded three years ago by Josh Shook. After graduating from the San Diego Golf Academy, Josh followed the footsteps of other successful entrepreneurs who started operations in their garage. Within six months' time, he was joined by David Caplan, a high school golf teammate and graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill, and Adrian Barragan, a fellow golf academy graduate.

Within their first year, operations were moved to a beautiful 3,500 square foot high-tech studio and a high-tech mobile studio was inaugurated. The mobile studio has serviced elite golf facilities from coast to coast, and has developed working relationships with some of the top PGA teaching professionals in the country.

Golfing by Design is a highly technical golf studio dedicated to improving your golf game by custom fitting your golf clubs to your individual swing.

The beautiful, unique golf studio is located in the historical district of Sanford, North Carolina, within 25 miles of the Pinehurst golf mecca. Golfing by Design is a golf fitting lab and not a traditional retail store. Golf By Design operates by appointment only.

In addition to the permanent studio, they have a high-tech mobile studio which travels from coast to coast. In the three years Golf By Design has been in business, they have earned a reputation among clients and PGA teaching professionals as one of the premier club fitting companies in the country.

Services

The same ball launch technology used to fit professional golfers is used by their club fitting specialists. During your one-on-one session, you will hit a variety of shots in the studio or on the range with your own clubs as well as golf clubs from our expansive demonstration system. Thier club fitting consultant will use a ball launch monitor to analyze several critical factors such as launch angle, spin rates, swing speed, club speed, club-head angle at impact, efficiency of hitting the sweet spot and consistency.

Golf By Design utilizes the HotStix fitting software which examines shafts, heads, and balls on a non-biased manner and determines what the best possibile solution is for each individual golfer.

The SST Puring process is used to correctly align the shafts in the club. The best golfers in the world rely on SST PURE Shaft Alignment to make sure their golf clubs perform consistently. Serious golfers simply cannot afford mis-hit shots caused by the misalignment of their shafts. Your session will be a unique experience and educational in nature as you will learn about cause and effect. Solutions for improving the performance of your golf clubs will be discussed with you upon the completion of your session.
